We have discovered new spiritual writings by Dr. Walter Bryan Guy. Before we get into that, a couple of comments.
We cast.a wide net for all things Dr. Guy. For those that are interested primarily in Hydrochloric Acid Therapy, the shortest route to the important clinical knowledge is preferred. We have found, however, that the deeper we look into Dr. Guy’s theories of medicine, that they are underpinned by his spiritual philosophy.
We, the Dr. Guy Team, will flag points of interest in his spiritual writings that help illuminate his medical practice for you clinicians. For other researchers, those into black history, philosophy, new religions, and the Baha’i Faith, there should be enough variety here on our blog to keep you interested.
Every now and again we do searches for Dr. Guy on the Internet using different search strings. This is always productive, and recently we came across four new articles on philsophy and spirituality published in a Baha’i journal in the late 1920s. Here are the titles:
The Answer Comes–a mystical meditation about what prayer is; for Baha’is, prayer is communion with God. Star of the West, Volume 17, Issue 12, 1927.
How the King Abolished Poverty–a parable written by Dr. Guy about the abolishment of excesses of wealth and poverty. Star of the West, Volume 20, Issue 2, 1929.
A Jewish Martyr–a story related to Dr. Guy on his 1929 trip to Palestine. Star of the West, Volume 20, Issue 12, 1930.
The Flame of Life–a meditation on Man as a divine spark. Star of the West, Volume 22, Issue 1, 1931.
All these articles are worth reading to better understand Dr. Guy’s philosophy and approach to life. You can look them up at: Bahai.works.
